Portraits-Assignment # 6

This is a picture of my cousin heather. She didnt know i was taking it. I like the contrast and how she looks so into deep thoughts.




My grandma just got surgery on her nose and i think her covering on her nose shows that she went through something but can still just hang out! i think it could be sharper..




I liked this picture of my Aunt Shelley because she is doing what she loves the most..shopping! she likes to find all this new jewelry and clothes and stuff. I like how she is sharp but the item is blurry, it makes a weird effect.




I loved this picture because you said not to be us and i had just gotten this mask in Venice over spring break. I thought this one was different because it took the role of not being yourself literally, instead of just a sad pose or some outfit that you wouldnt normally wear it actually just covered up my face.




I liked this picture alot because my cousin didnt know i was taking pictures of her. this one captured who she is alot because she is a very happy person! she is smiling all the time :)





This picture is of my mom and she doesnt like getting her picture taken, you can tell from her pose and how she's looking away, she almost looks a little uncomfortable to be my subject for portraits.




This picture pretty much defines my Uncle Wally. He is crazy and always funny. Definitely the entertainer of the family!




This picture is of my cousin eric. I really liked the lighting and i think it defined him well because just like his sister Becky, he smiles alot! must run in the family ;) i liked the look of it up against the wall




This picture was one of the self portraits i used to try to be not myself. Its not like me because i'm usually a pretty happy person! (like my cousins:)) and i look all sad and sorrowful and alone in this picture, and without makeup..




This is a picture of my sister Jenna and she actually just finished a book! She is constantly reading, graduated in English literature and helps my dad editing his books! She is holding her manuscript in her picture and it really shows herself

Get On Your Belly!!!!

Looking through Glass


I was walking around my house looking for inspiration of things to photograph and i saw this little glass coffee table with vases on it! so i went on my back under the table and started to set up my picture! as i looked through the table i realized among all the vases and such on the table there was a chandelier and lights on the ceiling! the glass table made a cool effect, it kind of doubled everything up.


Back Porch


i was shooting outside on the cold tile and i think my camera slipped because i didn't really mean to tilt my camera! but i liked the way it looked and how my dog Bello was looking at the camera in confusion!


Shining through the window


I really like this picture but the sun shining through the window was so bright! it was blown out but i liked how you could see the framing of the window and the reflection!


Ceiling


I was laying on the floor in our loft and noticed how the ceiling was three different colors! it went from the dark cabinet to the darker painted part of the ceiling then it transitioned into a part painted with lighter paint! i also love how ot is super sharp :D


Piano


This is one of my favorite pictures from this assignment. I liked the reflection on the piano, the white outline reminds me of a painting! i like how its really sharp and shows each little mark on the piano


Clothes on the floor


I was walking around my house trying to find inspiration of what pictures to take! As i walked down the hall to my room i saw there was a random pile of clothes laying on the floor. I don't know why they were there but i thought it was a good photo oppurtunity for this particular assignment.

Dresser


After i took my picture from under the table i rolled over and noticed the dresser! I really like how the carpet has all these designs but its focused more on the dresser than the carpet! i thought it looked really cool :)


Bello


I was laying on my back porch taking pictures when suddenly my teacup shih tzu walked up and sat in front of the camera! and then looked away like he had no interest at all! which isnt normal because he follows my family around and if everyones not looking at him and giving him all the attention he starts barking and sneezing!! he looked like a dog in deep thought.

Cool Clocks!!

I was walking down the streets of Venice there were many shops with the creations of the Venicians! The Venicians are famous for their glass! I saw lots of little shops with cute glass figures, lots with masks (the other thing their famous for) and when i saw this little shop i had to pause to take a picture! These clocks are so cool! they're different! UNIQUE! I like them :)

Pretty blossom tree and building

When we were driving through the streets of Rome and i saw this setting i immediately dove for my camera! thankfully we were at a stop light (: I just think this is so pretty!! A spring day with a pinkish-orangeish apartment building and a beautiful blossom tree just blooming with pink and white blossoms! Something about it just caught my eye, that's not a sight you see very often here in the states. I think that is my favorite picture i took while i was on my vacation. The only thing i don't like about it is that you can kind of see a reflection from the window :(

High Key Low Key take two!!!

Party?


This was my favorite low key picture in all the ones i took for this assignment. It brings a sense of wonder. like..why are the sunglasses broken? are they going to a party? why those accesories? I like how the sunglasses and the sequins especially reflect! I also liked how it was three different textures-sequins, smooth plastic and a fuzzy blankey:) this one was hard to shoot sharp and took alot of bracketing..but i think it turned out nice!


Cheer Shoes


I really liked this one cause i think it told the most stories. Yes it was white cheer shoes against a white background but the shoes were dirty and kind of worn out which made you wonder how long the owner had been cheering and all the many things they had done in those shoes? if they still did or if it was like a possession from the past?




book!


This picture was different than all the high keys i've ever shot, it had black in it. its just a simple book but one detail is it has white candle wax dripping all over it, it makes me ask why?? Was this person reading by candlelight? it reminds me of like a pioneer reading or anne frank stealing away to the attic to read..she probably had to use candlelight.




Phone


I liked this one because it was things all messed up. A phone hanging off the hook, a blanket draped over the phone, things just didn't look right. It brings all sorts of assumptions to mind..maybe- did their house get broken into? are they just a messy person? I like the reflections that come off the phone.

a little italy caught my eye!

when i saw this little street it just caught my eye! the colors are so cool together and it has so many shapes! it looks kind of worn down and its really precious looking! i like how it looks old but at the same time not so old because the colors are so bright

Cool low key i found!

i thought this low key photograph was cool because it makes parts of the dog stand out. Like a dog as black as that you probably wouldn't see as many reflections if you just saw this dog walking around in the park. it's eyes are what really stand out to me. they are so white and it just doesn't make sense! Its really cool though. It's tongue is probably a really light pink in reality and against the black dogs body it stands out alot! its also pretty cool how just the head reflects the most, it looks like it has sunlight shining on it. Another interesting thing about the picture is the background the photographer chose. the first one i like because it looks like the dog is in a forest and it has white flowers on the ground. The second one i like that its a plain black wall and it has a reflection behind the dogs head which makes his eyes stand out.
