Pretty blossom tree and building

When we were driving through the streets of Rome and i saw this setting i immediately dove for my camera! thankfully we were at a stop light (: I just think this is so pretty!! A spring day with a pinkish-orangeish apartment building and a beautiful blossom tree just blooming with pink and white blossoms! Something about it just caught my eye, that's not a sight you see very often here in the states. I think that is my favorite picture i took while i was on my vacation. The only thing i don't like about it is that you can kind of see a reflection from the window :(

High Key Low Key take two!!!

Party?


This was my favorite low key picture in all the ones i took for this assignment. It brings a sense of wonder. like..why are the sunglasses broken? are they going to a party? why those accesories? I like how the sunglasses and the sequins especially reflect! I also liked how it was three different textures-sequins, smooth plastic and a fuzzy blankey:) this one was hard to shoot sharp and took alot of bracketing..but i think it turned out nice!


Cheer Shoes


I really liked this one cause i think it told the most stories. Yes it was white cheer shoes against a white background but the shoes were dirty and kind of worn out which made you wonder how long the owner had been cheering and all the many things they had done in those shoes? if they still did or if it was like a possession from the past?




book!


This picture was different than all the high keys i've ever shot, it had black in it. its just a simple book but one detail is it has white candle wax dripping all over it, it makes me ask why?? Was this person reading by candlelight? it reminds me of like a pioneer reading or anne frank stealing away to the attic to read..she probably had to use candlelight.




Phone


I liked this one because it was things all messed up. A phone hanging off the hook, a blanket draped over the phone, things just didn't look right. It brings all sorts of assumptions to mind..maybe- did their house get broken into? are they just a messy person? I like the reflections that come off the phone.

a little italy caught my eye!

when i saw this little street it just caught my eye! the colors are so cool together and it has so many shapes! it looks kind of worn down and its really precious looking! i like how it looks old but at the same time not so old because the colors are so bright

Cool low key i found!

i thought this low key photograph was cool because it makes parts of the dog stand out. Like a dog as black as that you probably wouldn't see as many reflections if you just saw this dog walking around in the park. it's eyes are what really stand out to me. they are so white and it just doesn't make sense! Its really cool though. It's tongue is probably a really light pink in reality and against the black dogs body it stands out alot! its also pretty cool how just the head reflects the most, it looks like it has sunlight shining on it. Another interesting thing about the picture is the background the photographer chose. the first one i like because it looks like the dog is in a forest and it has white flowers on the ground. The second one i like that its a plain black wall and it has a reflection behind the dogs head which makes his eyes stand out.

High Key-Low Key

Silk on Velvet




I like this picture the best out of all my low keys because it just has alot of different textures. it has the silky shoes on the velvet surface, you can tell the different textures pretty well and you can tell where the shoes touch the material, they dont blend together, the flower and the shoes is a cool shape against it. I like the highlights but i dont know if its sharp enough.


White Bears



This was my favorite high key because it had so much white, and i liked how the 2 bears had the black eyes. you can see the little shadow of the two little bears against the pillow and against each other, the texture of the pillow is kinda cool. It needs to be ironed..

Messing Around With Before and After

This picture was ok. really gray. not my favorite

Berore and After shot!

This is my before shot but it wasn't my favorite because i thought it was too gray and it just looked dull. The picture had hardly any contrast, and i loooove contrast!




I liked my after picture alot better because it actually had contrast and it had more blacks and whites. Changing the exposure made it alot sharper looking.
